The small, four-engine BAe 146 (Avro RJ) would be electrically powered by a British company, for routes of about an hour. According to a statement from Wright Electric, which is developing the new power source, the upgraded carbon-neutral Wright Spirit will be available in 2026, with the propulsion and systems to be tested on a BAe 146 in the coming years.
The method is relatively old, but it works well: an extensive radar system is mounted on a platform that resembles an airship, making it efficient but cheap to operate. The system, known as the High Availability Aerostat System (HAAS), has not been given too many specifications, but it is a very large device. The device, operated by the Israeli Air Force, is said to be one of the largest of its kind.

In these competitions, the flying race cars would be driven by pilots in the cockpit, with a number of safety precautions. To this end, Alauda is also working with Acronis, which is developing a lidar system for the Airspeeder that will prevent the planes from colliding with each other in the air.
If the special means of transport become safe enough and get the necessary permits, we can get from A to B in a flying saucer-like vehicle in no time, alongside the rocket backpack, flying motorbike and flying car.
In line with market needs, Óbuda University and MAGNUS Aircraft Zrt. have agreed on an innovative cooperation for the development of electric-powered aircraft suitable for touring – the university told MTI on Tuesday.
