Lithuanian aerospace startup Airvolve is pioneering a transformative approach to tactical airlift systems, aiming to redefine military and civil aviation with its innovative Airlift aircraft. Founded in 2024 by Donatas Gendvilas and Antanas Ivancius, Airvolve is developing a compact, hybrid-electric, vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft designed to address the inefficiencies and vulnerabilities of traditional helicopters.
Fighter jets equipped with a “miracle afterburner” could completely rewrite the rules of aerial combat. Chinese researchers are claiming to have developed a near-perfectly efficient afterburner for jet engines, promising a significant leap forward in fighter jet capabilities. If these claims hold up, aircraft equipped with this technology will gain a major advantage, not only in terms of speed but also in terms of endurance and performance under extreme conditions.
The US Army’s new transport helicopter is scheduled to enter service by 2030, marking a significant shift in military aviation technology. The V-280 Valor, developed by Textron Bell, is set to replace the iconic UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters that have been in service since 1979. The replacement of these legendary helicopters signifies not only a technological leap but also a rethinking of the way military missions will be carried out in the future.
