Samson Sky has recently achieved a significant milestone by obtaining their seventh patent, this time from the United Kingdom, for their innovative Switchblade Flying Sports Car. This patent particularly recognizes the unique wing-swing design integral to the vehicle.
Sam Bousfield, the mastermind behind the Switchblade and the CEO of Samson Sky, highlighted the strategic importance of these design patents in safeguarding the company’s intellectual property. Bousfield expressed his satisfaction with the company’s patent strategy, noting that more patents are currently underway.
He said, “It is gratifying to see that our long-term strategy of patent coverage is bearing fruit.”
He further emphasized the uniqueness of their design, allowing for the wings and tail to be fully retracted into the vehicle, ensuring protection during driving and distinguishing the Switchblade from other flying cars.
Following their announcement of the Switchblade’s first flight on November 9, 2023, Samson Sky has initiated a crowdfunding campaign. This approach enables small-scale investors to participate alongside larger ones in investing in this revolutionary technology. According to James Mauch, a board member at Samson Sky, investing in the Switchblade offers not only potential financial rewards but also the excitement of being part of an innovative, eco-friendly advancement in transportation.

The Switchblade is remarkable for its hybrid electric system that utilizes unleaded auto gas instead of leaded aviation fuel, ensuring eco-friendliness. It boasts impressive performance metrics, with a maximum speed of over 125 mph (201 km/h) on the ground and an estimated cruise speed of 160 mph (257 km/h) in the air. The engine is adept at powering both the wheels on the ground and the propeller in flight.
For interested parties, investment opportunities in Samson Sky and the Switchblade Flying Sports Car are available at wefunder.com, including important legal disclosures.

The Switchblade stands out as a three-wheel, street-legal vehicle, designed for garage storage. It smoothly transitions from a road vehicle to a registered aircraft, with wings and tail deploying in under three minutes. This transformation allows for a flight cruising speed of up to 160mph and a travel range of up to 500 miles on a single tank of premium auto gas. The vehicle comfortably seats two, with ample storage space for travel bags.
