Hungarian-developed drone taxi

The legal environment is also ready for it, and in 7-8 years, even the series production of the Jacob’s Miracle, which can carry a load of 200 kilos – people or cargo – can begin. The world’s first hydrogen fuel cell-powered aircraft suitable for passenger transport was presented at Jakabszállás in Bács-Kiskun County.

Genevation Aircraft Kft., Based in Jakabszállás, is now working on the development of the device created in the Hungarian-American cooperation, as the American Alaka’i Technologies Inc. has chosen them in Europe as the development partner of the aircraft called Skai.

The head of coordination of the Hungarian company, Péter Szollár, said that the main means of transport of the future are thought to be similar types of aircraft, and production could start within a few years. Mass production, on the other hand, is another long-term plan for the time being, but they are not thinking for 10-20 years, but rather only for 7-8 years.

The invention, he added, is also in line with the government’s ideas on carbon neutrality, but the legal and infrastructural conditions have yet to be created.

László Palkovics, Minister of Innovation and Technology, told reporters in Jakabszállás that the automotive industry is still the flagship of the Hungarian economy, but as a result of the investments, legal and professional decisions of recent years, the aerospace industry has started to develop strongly. According to him, the presented drone development meets all three future expectations of the Hungarian economy, as it is also “high-tech, green and Hungarian”. The European Union’s drone regulations will be activated in Hungary in July this year, and the weight of aviation knowledge will be increased in higher education.

Péter Szollár answered the role of the passenger drone by describing the machine.

“The device we have just presented is a five-person vehicle driven by a pilot that can carry 200 kilos – that is, an air taxi capable of carrying five people. or as a blood transport device, as a military technical observer, ” he pointed out. Traffic tests of the device will be possible in Zalaegerszeg.
