Innovations in FPV Drone Technology by DJI

In the past, FPV drone flying was a niche hobby, far removed from the everyday drone user. However, DJI has revolutionized the industry by catering to the needs of FPV enthusiasts and providing innovative products for this growing market.

The DJI Avata Drone and Its Accessories

Last year, DJI introduced the Avata drone, targeting beginner FPV drone enthusiasts. To complement this product, DJI also launched the Goggles 2 and Motion Controller, which made flying more comfortable and natural. The success of the DJI Avata has led the company to develop and launch new devices dedicated to enhancing the FPV experience.

DJI Goggles Integra: Integrated Design and Improved Performance

The DJI Goggles Integra is a significant upgrade to its predecessor, featuring a new integrated design. The battery is now mounted on the back of the strap, eliminating the need for an external power source and cable, which previously caused inconvenience and safety concerns.

Equipped with two 0.49-inch Micro-OLED displays, the Goggles Integra supports 100 Hz operation and 700 nits of brightness. Although the viewing angle has decreased slightly from 51 to 44 degrees, users can still enjoy Full HD images streamed by the goggles. Utilizing OcuSync 3+ technology, the Goggles Integra provides a transmission speed of up to 50 Mbps, a range of up to 12 kilometers, and latency as low as 30 ms.

Sharing the FPV Experience through the DJI Fly App

In addition to the Goggles Integra, users can also view the drone’s footage on a smartphone using the DJI Fly app. This feature allows others to observe the drone’s camera feed and provide guidance to the pilot, facilitating collaboration during filming.

Extended Battery Life and Portability

The Goggles Integra offers a two-hour battery life, allowing users to fly multiple drone batteries without worrying about the goggles running out of power. Weighing 410 grams, the goggles also come with a carrying case for easy transport.

DJI RC Motion 2: Enhanced Control and Functionality

The RC Motion 2 builds on the success of the first controller, incorporating user feedback to improve the design. With easier-to-reach controls and a more standard joystick, the RC Motion 2 allows for greater flight options and smoother drone maneuvers. The addition of a scrollable Fn label on the side of the controller enables users to adjust various settings, such as ISO values, shutter speeds, and menu navigation.

Maintaining the same range and 5-hour battery life as its predecessor, the RC Motion 2 also features a hook to prevent accidental drops during flight.
