A new motorsport is born

Alauda Aeronautics has been working on improving the Airspeeder aircraft for the EXA air eVTOL races, similar to Formula 1 in the air, for many years. Although the first drag race and duel took place in 2021, they were only remotely controlled. Alauda Aeronautics aims to create a pilot-in-car version of the Airspeeder to simulate a real car race in the air, and has already shared a video showcasing the visuals.

The latest version, the Mk4, is designed to resemble a racing car on the ground and prioritizes safety, with the propellers concealed behind a protective cover. The Mk4 will be powered by hydrogen instead of batteries and is expected to reach a top speed of 360 km/h in just 30 seconds. The company plans to have its first race with human pilots in 2024.
