Volocopter launches pilot training

  • Reading Time:1Minute

Volocopter is teaming up with Canadian aeronautical engineering and training company CAE to create what the partners call the world’s first eVTOL pilot training and development programme.

The scheme will aim to produce certified pilots in time for the launch of Volocopter’s air taxi service planned for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Volocopter, based in Germany, and CAE (formerly Canadian Aviation Electronics) have agreed to develop, obtain certification and roll out the programme internationally in the coming months.

CAE and Volocopter’s eVTOL pilot training program aims to produce graduates who can safely navigate drone services. Among the first of these, Volocopter will demonstrate local urban passenger transport operations.
