In 2021, the world’s first flying car could start on its way, which is extremely fast

One of the defining means of transport of the future may be the flying car, which can travel both in the air and on land.

Several manufacturers have planned to do so in the last decade, plans have also been made public, but the first model has already been unveiled in the United States on Tuesday.

Pioneer’s flying car (PAL-V for short) is made of carbon fiber, titanium and aluminum, weighs 600 kg and is equipped with propellers that can fly at altitudes of up to 3,800 meters, but can also be “retracted” if the driver wants to travel on land. .

It runs on gasoline, has a 230-horsepower, four-cylinder engine and three wheels. It can transform into a gyrocopter in just 10 minutes, ie fly into flight mode, and accelerate to 96 km / h in 8 seconds. You need a 160-meter “runway” to get on and only a 30-meter ride to land.

It can split at 320 km / h in the air and have a top speed of 160 km / h on the ground. The vehicle can be driven in a similar way to an engine, the driver having to steer with a control lever. Not only a car but also a plane license is required to drive.

The two-seater Dutch car is already in the production phase, its piece is sold for 600 thousand dollars (180 million forints). So far, 70 pre-orders have been placed for it, and the first piece could go on its way in 2021. Later, a cheaper model will be built, which will be called Pal-V Liberty Sport, and will cost “only” 335 thousand dollars (100 million forints).

Managing director Robert Dinemanse said earlier that they had worked for years to overcome technical challenges and create an innovative, even capable car that meets all safety standards.

“Flying cars have already appeared in many movies, but will be available in reality in the coming years” he told the Associated Press.
